Almost 1,000 metres above sea level, the view at Hylja leaves you speechless. Situated on a mountain farmstead above Lalm in Gudbrandsdalen, lovingly cared for by the same family since the 1600s.
Silence sets the pace. Nature’s colours shape the atmosphere — sun-warmed timber, deep forest tones, vivid moss and heather, and slate stone meeting the golden sheen of copper.

From the summer farm, the world opens out between two mountain realms. On one side, Rondane lifts its gentle, blue-grey ridgelines above the valley — quiet, rounded peaks that have stood watch for generations.

Food at the Seterstuggu
At Seterstuggu, there is always a table to gather around. Here we serve breakfast, simple lunches and wholesome dinners inspired by traditional recipes and mountain ingredients — shaped by the seasons and what we have available locally.
From summer 2026, Seterstuggu will be the natural meeting place for guests staying in the shepherds’ cabins: a warm, welcoming space to start the day slowly, and end it with good flavours, the glow of the fireplace and unhurried conversation.
